Tyres
Your tyres are the only point of your car in contact with the ground, so for safety’s sake they must be maintained. The law states that there should be a minimum of 1.6 mm of tread across the central ¾ of the tyre and all the way around. During your vehicles annual MOT test the tyres and wheels will be inspected. This will include their condition, security, size , type and tread depth.

WHEN SHOULD YOUR TYRES BE REPLACED ?
- If after a puncture a type specialist detects a defect that renders the tyre unrepairable
- If the tyre is not suited to the vehicle.
- If it has reached the legal limit of wear.
- If there is localised abnormal wear.
- If it shows signs of ageing.
- If it shows cuts or deformations likely to harm safety
MAINTENANCE OF YOUR TYRES…
- Check your tyre pressures once a month.
- When your tyres are changed make sure the valves are also changed.
- Balancing is equally important to avoid premature wear of the tyres , suspension and steering components.
- Get your tracking checked.
