Tyres

Your tyres are the only point of your car in contact with the ground, so for safety’s sake they must be maintained. The law states that there should be a minimum of 1.6 mm of tread across the central ¾ of the tyre and all the way around. During your vehicles annual MOT test the tyres and wheels will be inspected. This will include their condition, security, size , type and tread depth.

WHEN SHOULD YOUR TYRES BE REPLACED ?

  • If after a puncture a type specialist detects a defect that renders the tyre  unrepairable
  • If the tyre is not suited to the vehicle.
  • If it has reached the legal limit of wear.
  • If there is localised abnormal wear.
  • If it shows signs of ageing.
  • If it shows cuts or deformations likely to harm safety
